Leg 1: Bethesda, Maryland to St. Louis, Missouri

10/28/10
The first leg of our cross country adventure was a long one. We began in Bethesda, Maryland and drove 12 hours on Interstate 64 West through Maryland, West Virginia, Kentucky, Indiana and Illinois to St. Louis, Missouri. West Virginia was pretty with lots of rolling hills but once we hit Kentucky the hills disappeared.  We were welcomed into Kentucky by giant factories and power plants. Indiana and Illinois had absolutely nothing.

The next leg of our adventure is St. Louis, Missouri to Denver, Colorado which is another 12 hour drive. To make the drive better we are spending the day in St. Louis and then leave for Kansas this evening to camp at a campground 5 hours away and then continue on our way to Denver.
